Build-Jig for the SCAMP Sailboat
The plywood SCAMP kit that can be purchased from Small Craft Advisor includes MDF pieces that can be assembled into a jig upon which SCAMP can be built. I will be purchasing the kit in the next few months. To aid in proper build-height, and also to provide a handy place to store lumber, SCA recommends building four (4) support legs on which the jig itself will rest. The recommendation is to build the support legs to raise the jig somewhere between 12" and 16". Based on the photo's I have seen, I built my support legs as shown in my sketch below (except when I assembled them I went to quick route and used my framing nailer instead of screws, so the joints are actually glued and nailed). It is designed to match the width of the base of the build jig (680mm). I will build the jig itself in spring and will update this page more then.
