3D Printed Object Gallery

above: I designed and made this Alphorn pen and stand. The bell of the horn is the pencap.
The finished painted version along with drawings,  may be seen below.

Here is a gallery of 3D Printing projects, made using Fusion 360, Tinkercad, Prusaslicer, and printed on a Prusa i3 MK3S printer.

I will post objects that I print, starting with the most recent prints and going back to my first print. I include many .STL files below which were exported from Fusion360; the gcode files below were generated on PrusaSlicer and were generated with the intent to be printed on my Prusa i3MK3S with 0.4mm nozzle, I can't guarantee they will work on your printer or with your filament.

The .STL and .GCode files attached below are copyright protected and may be used only for personal use not for commercial use or for manufacturing objects for sale.

3D Printed Scooter License Plate Frame

Designed on Fusion 360 and printed on my Prusa, changing filament 3 times for different color layers.  Could be called a moped tag frame, scooter tag plate frame, moped license plate bracket....all the same thing.  It's a frame for the small license plates used on scooters in USA.  I designed this license plate frame for my Vespa Primevera.  The words are in Dutch, and mean "life is good".

3D Printed Alphorn

I am currently printed a full size , over 12 foot long, alphorn on the printer.  There is a separate page dedicated to this project.  Here is the link to the 3D Printed Alphorn Page.
This horn has been designed to be printed on a Prusa i3 MK3S, it will be printed in 27 pieces, with 3 threaded connections and the rest epoxied permanent joints.

3D Printed Unimat Metalline Woodturning Attachment

I designed and printed a 100% infill PLA tool-rest for wood turning on my Unimat Metalline mini-lathe.   Unimat sells a metal tool rest and they call is a Unimat Metalline Professional Wood Turning Attachment in their catalogue.  I am very pleased with the one I printed.  I took me a couple tries to get the height just right for the turning tools I use.  Designed on Fusion 360, sliced on PrusaSlicer and printed in 100% infill on my Prusa i3 MK3S.  Note that scaling will likely be required to print the attached .stl file to the correct size, for whatever reason I notice I would need to scale down these .stl files to 10% to print them at the right size.

3D Printed Penny Drop Game

Designed in Fusion 360, sliced on PrusaSlicer Printed in PLA on Prusa i3 MK3S.   The CAD files are .stl and I find that I need to scale them at a scale of 10% on Prusa Slicer in order to print the desired size.  Either way, if you print this, a penny should fall through the 6 slot, but should just rest in, but not fall through, the 1-5 slots.

3D printed Cheese Molds

4.25" dia Camembert molds; designed on Fusion 360, printed using Prusa Slicer and printed in PLA at 100% infill on my Prusa i3 MK3S.  Note that as far as I can tell, printed PLA is NOT approved for use in food containers such as this due to potential voids in the material that could harbor bacteria etc...  I did it anyway, but do so at your own risk.

3D Printed Cheese Draining / Drying Rack

This design features a wide slats with radiused tops and bottoms, and feet that raise the rack up above the surface it rests on.  Designed on Fusion 360, printed in 100% infill PLA on my Prusa i3 MK3S.  As with the cheese molds, note that I don't think 3D printed PLA is approved for use in food process tools such as this, so do so at your own risk.

.stl files, scale to the size you want.  The needle point was so fine that I needed to apply glue to the print bedf to get it to print properly.

Large Tapestry Loom Hardware

I made a very large tapestry loom and printed the upper beam tensioning knobs and the warp spacing blocks.  The tensioning knobs were printed with internal threads which worked perfectly.

3D Printed Magnifying Glass:

3D Printed Magnifying Glass;  This magnifying glass can be scaled up or down to fit various lens diameters.  Drop the lens in, and then thread in the threaded retaining ring that holds the lens in place.  Scale it so that the ID of the threads are 1mm larger than the ID of your lens.  This magnifying glass has flat faces that allow it to stand on its own in a vertical, sideways, or flat position.  I designed this on Fusion 360 and printed it in PLA on  my Prusa i3MK3S with 50% infill at .20 Quality setting.  I have printed these for 75mm and for 60mm lenses, the photos below are of the 60mm version.

This 3D printed magnifying glass can also be set on its side, or of course laid flat.

3D Printed Alphorn Pins; This is the first multi-color print I have done.  I only have one nozzle, so I paused the print during printing and changes filament in order to print the different colors.  Keep in mind that using this technique you can onloy print one color in any layer of the print, so you have to design the object accordingly.  Designed on Fusion 360, printed on Prusa i3 MK3S using COEX PLA filament which is from Wisconsin.

3D Printed Hitch Receiver Cap:  This is for a 2" Hitch Receiver.  I designed in an open compartment on the inside.  Printed with 50% infill.
Picture

3D Printed Hitch Cover

You will need to scale this STL file.  I printed this part with a 51mm wide across the part that inserts into the receiver
3D Printed Alphorn mouthpieces.  I have worked on these designs to achieve mouthpiece designs that have good tone and range.  I designed the outside to my own liking, but please note that the inner shape of the mouthpiece does not follow the outer shape.  These mouthpieces are in 18mm and 20mm cup sizes and feature a tapered inner bore.  I print these in PETG at .10 resolution on my Prusa i3 MK3S.  These were designed on Fusion 360 and sliced with Prusa Slicer.  The attached .stl files need to be scaled down by 0.10 factor in order to print at correct Alphorn mouthpiece size.

My newest design Alphorn mouthpieces feature a Swiss flag design on the outside of the cup.

.STL files of my Alphorn mouthpiece designs.  Copyrighted, please only use for your own use, not for making mouthpieces for sale.  I find I need to scale these down by a factor of 0.10 to print to the correct size.  To double check the scale, the pdf drawings for these mouthpieces may be found on this page.

Watering Can:  At the time of printing this was the largest object , after assembly, that I had made. It is 40cm long by 25cm tall.  I printed it in pieces and glued the pieces together.  The handle is solid PETG and the rest is Solid PLA except the main tub which I think is 60% infill.  I sprayed all the PLA pieces with 2 coats of clear acrylic automotive laquer prior to assembling the pieces, to water proof them; we will see if that works.

3D Printed Filament Scrap Bin:  PLA 100% infill .20 speed.  I wanted a container small enough to put on the desk, that I could put scrap filament and scrap supports in.  This is 80mm diameter and 90mm tall and has a removable top.
Picture
Clampy McClamperson! 3D Printed C Clamps. PETG 100% infill , .07 ultradetail. After printing the threaded parts, they must be chased with taps and dies. I designed 3 sizes. I designed these clamps be able to be self supporting on all sides (except the side that the threaded rod comes out of). I printed the threaded rods of these clamps horizontally so that the laminations ran the length of the threaded rod. Then I trimmed and chased the interior and exterior threads with taps and dies; cutting oil was needed to avoid snapping the rods during the chasing of the OD threads.

3D Printed Tiny Tea Pot

Tea Pot, design in Fusion 360, Prusaslicer, Prusament PLA, 50% infill, .07mm detail. My 8 year old arrived at the printer and accelerated the print speed a couple times during printing which changed the look of the print. In these sections she sped it up to as high as 600% print speed, and when I caught this I returned it to 100%. This is a hollow tea pot, with hollow spout, function for play. The photo is of the parts with no sanding or finishing afgter printing.

Dress Shop, called "Shine" , designed by my 8 year old.  The clothes rack rod is metal, I added that to the model after it printed.

3D Printed Bison Cookie Cutter
Picture

Bison cookie cutter. Designed on Fusion 360, printed with Prusament PLA filament, 100% infill, .07 detail. We drove to Custer State Park in South Dakota this year and saw huge herds of these majestic animals. This is the first self-designed object I printed and it was a nice simple print to start with.

Prusa name tag , 1st test print after assembling the printer.
Picture

This name tag is the first object printed from the PRUSA i3 MK3S that I built from a kit. It worked on the first try. This design came with the printer, I did not design this part.
